The story of the Mitchell House reaches beyond the construction, decline and restoration of a magnificently beautiful and sturdy structure. It is a commentary on the love of a community for an indispensable icon of its heritage; a narrative of the refining power of a structure held in romantic reverence as a symbol of strength, durability, and permanence. It is an interpretation of the intrinsic beauty and character of a house and how the house itself helped form the character and beauty of multiple generations of people from this community and from other parts of the world.
Constructed in 1906 and recently renovated, the Mitchell House entertains up to 150 guests for your indoor or outdoor wedding, reception, meetings, and other events with a warm atmosphere of hospitality. Guests are greeted by four columns that tower at the front of the majestic home. Upon entrance, the grand hall is an impressive sight with a grand stairway, consisting of two flights of steps coming together at one point. This magnificent expansive foyer can host sublime indoor affairs. The Ladies' Parlor is to the left, with hand-painted cloth above wood panels that is truly a masterpiece. On the right is the library and dining room. A lovely garden is available for outdoor ceremonies and receptions.
